Built in 1910, Sherwood was an historic farm homestead which has been transformed into a luxurious yet warm and welcoming lodge. We cater for individuals and small intimate groups, all with the same high level of service and attention.
The lodge is centrally heated with the added comfort of open fires and a large communal lounge. All accommodation is contained within the main lodge building. There are three very large suites (Superior rooms) and two medium sized 'Standard' rooms, each with a distinctive elegance.
Superb food and wine are an essential part fo the Sherwood experience. Fresh regional produce includes Canterbury lamb, wild venison, salmon and crayfish (lobster). Our list of fine New Zealand wines is specially selected to include the best from top boutique wineries.
Sherwood Lodge has three Junior Suites and two Standard Rooms available, four with ensuite bathrooms and one with a private bathroom across the hall. Each room is decorated differently, to make the most of the room's individual attributes.
All rooms in the house have central heating (and the downstairs suites all have open fires to make them even cosier).
